Berkeley Ergonomics

For over 15 years, Colin and Andrea Hunter have been building and designing some of the best sleep systems found anywhere in the world. With a focus on function and performance, they have brought together components from all over Europe to finish a mattress that is both simple yet progressive. Whether it is a mattress designed with German innersprings and latex as it’s core, or the use of an all-latex core, what makes up a Berkeley sleep system is always similar.

Berkeley systems carry a few common traits. First, they do not have any polyurethane foam. By using all-natural latex and wool, Berkeley products provide cushioning and temperature regulation, without the negatives of poly foam. Second, the mattress comes zippered, which allows anyone to see what is inside the product, hiding nothing, but also allows that person to change a component at any given time. One of the most recognizable aspects of a Berkeley system is the ergonomic, slatted base that the mattress sets on. This base, which has sliding adjustors allows a consumer to make adjustments in particular sections to increase or decrease tension and flexibility, thereby allowing someone to alter their alignment.
